March 29, 1947 – May 24, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Keith at the age of 75 in Bonita Springs, Florida.
He is predeceased by his cherished wife, Gwen; his first wife, Patricia; and his parents, Marie and Wayne, all of whom Keith carried deeply in his heart.
A devoted father to Candice Sheldon, Trent Sheldon as well as Matthew Worner, Ryan Worner and Marc Worner. He was the true North Star to all his children and they will forever look up for his guiding light.
A proud and loving Grandpa to Dyllan (Jennifer), Jadyn, Kiera, Connor and Noah. He was excited also to recently become a Great-Grandpa to Rheid. Their Grandpa absolutely adored each and every one of them and they will never forget his larger than life laugh and generous heart.
Keith was born and raised in Alberta, Canada and he treasured his roots and his west coast family which includes his sister Delores Sheldon and her children Garry, Lori and his late nephew, Rick as well as all his great nieces and nephews and his many cousins. He made a recent trip to western Canada just a few years ago visiting and making memories that undoubtedly will mean even more to everyone there now.
Keith received his Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from General Motors Institute in 1970. With this he then began an illustrious career in Finance that took him and his family around the world starting from Ontario, Canada to Michigan, USA and then from there internationally to far-off places like Egypt, Kenya, India and Japan. Throughout those years he continued his schooling at nights earning other degrees including a Masters in Engineering. Having this remarkable career path and his love of adventure and travel, he was most fortunate to gather a vast collection of colleagues, neighbors and friends. He kept in touch with so many of these treasured people over the years always wanting news of their lives and families and he was blessed that some came to be his very best friends.
Keith was in the true sense of the word an Educator. Every person in his life benefited at some point from his teaching and guidance. After his retirement to Bonita Springs, it seemed altogether fitting and rewarding for him that he would continue to educate as a Professor teaching on-line for the Florida Institute of Technology. He never lost the motivation for his own learning and knowledge and because of that he was an incredible teacher and a natural born leader. Many people in Keith’s life had the good fortune of his guiding hand somewhere along their journey and felt his joy and pride in their success.
Keith was truly one-of-a-kind and he will be greatly missed by all.
As per his wishes, a private celebration of Keith’s life will take place with his children at a later date. Given his well-known love for animals and his own lifelong commitment to rescue and adoption, Keith’s family kindly ask that you please consider a donation to an animal shelter or rescue of your choice. That would have made him very happy.
