Laurette Berrette

Laurette Berrette, age 85, of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 15, 1940, in Cavaillon, Haiti to her beloved parents Phene and Anne Madhere.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and saw or spoke with them every day. She loved singing hymns and telling jokes. She had a heart that was as warm and comforting as the hymns she loved to sing. Her faith was a constant source of strength.

Laurette is survived by her husband, Berthony Berrette; children: Jean Evans, Yves M. Lamonge, Ronald (Cristina) Berrette and Judith Berrette; stepchildren: Pierre Thony Berrette and family and Jean Francois Duvernay and family; grandchildren: Ralph Lamonge and family, Gregoire Lamonge, Ronald Bertho Berrette, Danielle Berrette and Dominique Berrette; sister: Simone Madhere Danger; Brother-in-law: Renel Berrette and family ; sisters-in-law: Madeleine Berrette and family and Adriene Berrette and family; nieces and nephews: Josiane Madhere, Sheila Madhere, Vanel Madhere, Denis Danger, Magalie Danger, Francko Danger and Vitaleme Danger.

Her family, friends, and all who were touched by her warmth and generosity will deeply miss her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her dedication to her family, and her perseverance and enduring strength. Everyone who knew her felt her big heart and giving nature. No one who met her could forget her smile.

The family would like to acknowledge all the kind expressions of sympathy and love that has been extended.

A wake will be held from 6 to 9 pm Friday, March 21st at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, March 22nd at St. Raphael Catholic Church 2514 Lee Blvd, Lehigh Acres, Florida. Entombment will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
