Mr. Pitters I remember meeting your wife Carmen at the bank and then you. Our kids went to the same middle school and your son Leonard and my daughter Sarah were awarded most athletic. I remember you driving to my house to drop off alot of Jerk Chicken. It was so delicious we greatly appreciated it. You will be missed.

I still don't think that you are gone. I just think that you are at work; here I am listening for your phone call asking me what's for dinner.  I will say, "What do you want", you will say, "cabbage and saltfish". I will say, "cabbage again, okay" 
I will listen to hear your truck drive in, I will open the garage and go to the truck and welcome you home with a kiss. I will help you unload the truck and you will say, "It's nice to be home". These are precious memories that I will never forget. Len, you have made me to be the person I am today. I am so glad that I got to cut your toe nail and lotion your feet that last night when you got home. I never knew that it was the last thing I was going to do for you. His wife Carmen was very kind as well and I know she will miss him dearly since he was everything to her.

To Sis. Carmen Pitters and the Pitters family: I would like to express my deepest condolences for the passing of Mr. Leonard Pitters. 

Sis. Carmen, you probably do not remember me as it has been a while since we saw each other at The Church of God of West Broward (now Praise Tabernacle International), after we went through the new members class together. However, I would like you to know that I am very saddened by your loss. There are really no suitable words to express the grief of losing your loved one, your husband and the father of your child. Therefore, the only words that I can share with you is that Christ has borne our grief and sorrows, so He does know how we feel; and His strength is truly made perfect in our weakness. May God provide comfort, strength and provision to you all.  

A year and a half ago, I went through an emotional time after losing a loved one. I said to Jesus, â€œI can only go through this if you take me through it". Jesus sent me a word through an evangelist who had no idea that I had spoken to Jesus in that fashion. Totally unsolicited and unexpectedly, she said to me, "Jesus, says, just stick close to Him and He'll take you through it". I am happy to report that He has. Today, I am leaving the same words with you. Just stick close to Jesus and He will take you through it.

I met "Uncle Puggy" less than two years ago when he visited Jamaica to attend our wedding.Immediately, he distinguised himself as a true host.. "One who makes guests feel at home, welcome and at ease." I always felt that way in his company. This was matched by his sense of humour and candour. His remarkable generousity was evident when he literally gave away a pair of his shoes to me. After complementing him on how "fly" his shoes was. He said, You like dem? Here try them! Dem fit, look on good on you, You keep dem.

Uncle Puggy was the Uncle that had that special place in my heart. He was a wonderful person, kind, loving, he had such a big heart. He was approachable, you could talk to him about almost anything. Uncle "Puggy" was a champion,a jovial man, a man of energy and certainly a person who valued his realationships with his family and friends.  He was a wonderful husband, father and loved to entertain.  I remember the salt mackerel and gully beans he made for breakfast, christmas 2011.  He knew how to enjoy life, he danced when it was time to dance, laugh when he needed to laugh, and cried when he had to cry.  In the eyes of God his purpose here was fulfilled and called him home to rest from all his work.  To Carmen you will be lonely at times but know that you have us to lean on and to share the wonderful memories.  To his children and other relatives, let us take a page out of his book and live a life worth remembering.

To my dear uncle Len, you are so special to me. All the fun things we had done together will never be forgotten. All the jokes that were told and the laughter that we shared. I remember your last visited we went to the supermarket and you said take anything you want even if you wanted the entire supermarket, I'll pay for it just for you. When God gave you to me it was a blessing and the memories you left can never be taken away from me. Although you are gone, you will always be in my mind and my heart. I love you and i always will.

Puggy, I still can't come to the fact that you are gone.  You have become such a big part of my life. I have known you for only 4 years but it feels like 50. We met as strangers, we became friends.  Our friendship blossomed into something very beautiful. "We became family". You have touched our lives in so many different ways. You shared your love, laughter, your family, and your friends with us. You were there for us in the good times and the bad. You have left an indelible mark on our lives.
