

Lydia was an amazing wife, mother, Mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and Pastor.
Lydia is survived by her husband Antonio Garcia, married 63+ years; daughter’s Daisy Cardona, Linda (Oscar) Ferrer and Elizabeth (Eloy) Garza; adopted son, Edwin Cortes; grandchildren Joey Cardona, Lilliana Garza, Joshua Ferrer, Angelica Leandry, Jazlyn Sallin, Eloy A. Garza; great grandchildren Elaina Cardona, Aryanna Leandry; adopted grandchildren: Edwin, Kassandra and Andrew Cortes; and her siblings Virginia Rivera, Samuel Lopez, Ismael Lopez, Maria Laureano.
She was known for her immense kindness and generosity. Her laughter and jokes brought a smile to everyone's face. Her compassion for others left a lasting impression in the hearts of all those she touched. Her love for her husband and family was evident to everyone around them. Above all, Lydia's primary focus in life was her devotion to her Lord & savior: Jesus Christ. She was a spiritual mother to innumerable people and continued to counsel and advise them even through her final days.
She truly embodied the grace and strength of a Proverbs 31 woman, walking alongside her husband, Pastor Tony, as a shining light and inspiration.
She loved every precious member of the congregation, starting from the youngest, to the oldest. She served her church and community as a Pastor's wife for the past 60 years.
She will be greatly missed.
She is predeceased by her parents Justo & Virginia Lopez, siblings Benjamin, Augustin, Daniel, Efrain & John Lopez. Her son-in-law Joe Cardona.
A visitation for Lydia will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at Love Gospel Church, 80 Rosemary St, Port Charlotte, FL 33954 from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 PM. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 State Rd 82, Ft Myers, Florida 33913.
