Marie W Sanderford

Marie Winders Sanderford, 80, of Lehigh Acres passed away Friday, July 1, 2016. She was born in Wilson, NC on April 8, 1936 to Aaron and Ernestine Winders. She was the oldest of four children. Marie married Howard D. Sanderford at Union Grove Baptist Church in Fremont, NC on August 12, 1956.

Marie spent 30 years in the medical field as a medical records administrator. Serving first at Walker Memorial Hospital in Avon Park, FL, followed by Jellico Community Hospital in Jellico, TN, Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN, Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC and after moving to Florida assisting with collections in Richard’s dental office for nearly 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Patsy W. Ginn and her brother, Carey A. Winders.

Marie is survived by her husband, Howard; two sons: Richard D. (Kathy Cross) Sanderford and Ronnie B. (Lisa Price) Sanderford; five grandchildren: Justin Daniel Sanderford, Aubrey Nathanial Sanderford, Ryan Benjamin Sanderford, Zachary Daniel Sanderford and Tyler Lynn Sanderford; her great grandson, Daniel Enrique Sanderford; her sister, Annette W. Howell and sister-in-law, Teresa Winders.

Visitation will be held at Fort Myers Seventh Day Adventist Church 3451 Ortiz Ave. Fort Myers, FL 33905 on Thursday, July 7 from 5 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6 pm. Viewing will be held on Friday, July 8 at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 from 10:30 am until the graveside service at 11 am at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
