Mary was born on May 21, 1947, in Sarasota, FL, to Ward and Cleo Curry. She married the love of her life, James Penia, in 1966, and together they shared 59 years of marriage.
Mary devoted her life to her family and the care of others. She worked for many years as a registered nurse before retiring. She enjoyed reading, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her husband, James Penia; her children, Elizabeth Hulfeld, Carol Hatchel, James Penia Jr. and five grandchildren; Nicholas, Caitlin, JT, Jamie Marie, and Zoey. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
