

Millie Nielsen was born in Greeley, Nebraska on December 20, 1919. She was the oldest of eight children born to the late Dr. Herbert and Florence Sampson. Millie attended Creighton University and studied journalism. She worked in the Insurance Industry while living in Columbus, Ohio. She was an avid bridge player, a member of the Contemporary Women’s Club of Fort Myers and the Women’s Guild of the Church of the Resurrection.
Millie is survived by daughters, Anne Marshall (Ken) of Cleveland, OH and Barbara Nielsen of Fort Myers; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Sally Brady of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law, Caroline Sampson of Omaha, NE and brother-in-law, Robert Parker of Spokane, WA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Nielsen; sons, Bradley Nielsen and Jon Nielsen; siblings, Sister Carmen Sampson (OP), Herbert Sampson, Jr., Helen Wheeler, Father Jim Sampson (s.P), Richard Sampson and Jeanne Parker.
A Memorial Mass will be held at The Church of the Resurrection (8121 Cypress Lake Dr, Fort Myers) on June 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice or a charity of your choice.
