Myrtle E. Johnston, age 93, the wife of the late Linford Johnston of LaBelle, Florida, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014. Myrtle relocated from NY to LaBelle in 1987 and became well known for her ministry at the First Christian Church and her work in the community. She was a volunteer for the American Heart Association, Meadowbrook Manor, and Oakbrook Manor.
She is survived by her son, David Martin and his wife Gloria; grandson, Donald Martin and his wife Marian; sister-in-law, Millicent Williams, and many relatives and friends.
The viewing will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida 33913 on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Christian Church, 138 Ford Ave. LaBelle, Florida on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
