Raymond was born in Scranton, PA, son of the late George and Helen (Gurecki) Petritus. He graduated from South Scranton Catholic High School and Lackawanna College. Six days before his 20th birthday, Raymond enlisted in the Army where he was stationed in Germany for most of his service. Before retirement, he worked for International Ladies Garment Workers Union as an accountant. He also was part owner of J & R Amusements.
Raymond enjoyed working in his yard, playing card games on the computer, reading and watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, Duke Men’s Basketball and UConn Women’s Basketball teams.
The absolute light of his life was his grandson, Luke. Raymond is also survived by his daughter, Patricia Lasater (Bryan) of Burlington, NJ; mother-in-law, Phyllis Cicalese Burns of Plantation, FL; several cousins and many friends that he cherished dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Petritus and sister, Marianne Mikoliecik.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, in memory of Raymond.
