

80, in Life Care Center of Estero, Estero, FL after a lengthy illness. Richard was born in
Niagara Falls, NY on July 29, 1936, son of Barney R. and Marion (Clark) Hunt. He attended
elementary school in Niagara Falls and graduated from Lewiston-Porter Central School in 1955.
He attended Cornell University School of Agriculture and graduated with an Associates degree
in Horticulture and Landscape Design. He served in the US Army from 1959-1962, with a tour
at several field hospitals in Germany.
Upon his return home from the Army, Richard operated Hunt and Hunt Nursery in Ransomville,
NY with his brother Robert. In 1965 he moved to Orlando FL where he worked for Howell
Branch Nursery for several years. He later operated his own landscaping/yard maintenance
business for several banks and private homes in the Orlando area. In 2006 he relocated to the
Ft. Myers area.
Richard was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Winter Park, FL and a current
member of First Presbyterian Church of Lehigh Acres where he served as a deacon and usher.
He especially enjoyed photography and driving his 1977 Corvette.
Richard is survived by one brother, Howard C. (Wilda) of Forest MS; four nieces, Wendy (Gary)
Harris of Lockport, NY, Linda Vince of Estero, FL, Jacque (Joe) Huffman of Raymond, MS and
Lori (Anthony) Humphrey of Charlotte, NC and two nephews, James C. (Cindy) Hunt of
Flowood, MS and Ricky (Donna) Hunt of Forest, MS. He was predeceased by his parents and
brother, Robert E. Hunt
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Florida National
Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Arrangements by Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home, 9231 Cypress Lake
Dr., Ft. Myers.
