
Richard O. Runge, 87, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on January 4, 2024. He was born October 14, 1936, in Galion, Ohio and his survived by his sister Sandra (Jeff) Spotts of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, son Rick (Amy) Runge of Port Clinton, Ohio, grandson Ian Loofboro of Fort Myers, Florida and granddaughter Lauren Runge of Kettering, Ohio.
After graduating from Galion High School in 1954, Richard started his career as well as enlisting in the Ohio Air National Guard and United States Air Force Reserve, 179th Combat Support Squadron in Mansfield, Ohio. Richard activated during the Berlin Crisis of 1961 and honorably discharged in 1964. Before moving to Florida in 1991, he worked for North Electric Company, Bob Clouse & Associates Agency and TEPCO.
He was a proud supporter of the NRA, Moose Lodge 303, and The American Legion. Richard will be remembered for his enjoyment of scratch cooking for friends and family, amateur photography of anything, listening to top forty music of all decades, his gardening green thumb, love of Lake Erie, and always keeping up on current events.
Richard was preceded in death by his two daughters Julie and Roberta and his brother Ron.
