Captain Robert P. Austin, 85, of Lehigh Acres passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on November 8, 1929 to Christopher and Anna Austin. He married Diana R. McMullen on July 8, 1950 at Star of the Sea Chapel in Governor’s Island, NY. Robert retired as a Captain in the US Army after 30 years of service. He then worked for the health clinic in Fort Myers for 18 years. He is survived by his wife: Diana; Children: Aleta (Rudy) Rodriguez, Christopher Austin and Robert (Robyn) Austin; his grandchildren: Teresa, Diana, Douglas, Amber and Gregory; 6 great grandchildren and a sister, Rosemary Austin. Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn. Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 Fort Myers on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 9 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am.
