Veronica Giovana Vargas

In celebration of Veronica’s life, the family kindly asks that anyone wishing to bring flowers choose bright and colorful arrangements — especially in shades of yellow. We also ask that guests refrain from wearing black; Veronica wished to be remembered with light and uplifting colors that reflect the joy she brought to others.

Veronica Giovana Vargas, age 61, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She was born January 9, 1964 in Lima, Peru.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Luis Roberto Vargas; her cherished children: Daniella Vargas (Luis Fernando Solari), Luis Alonso Vargas (Kendall Vargas), and Nicolas Vargas (Sara Vargas); her loving parents, Rodolfo and Carmen Cabanillas; and her mother-in-law, Nieves Paredes de Vargas.

She leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren: Claire Louise Vargas, Chloe Jane Vargas, Callie Noelle Vargas, and Colbie Elizabeth Vargas (children of Luis Alonso and Kendall Vargas); Noah Lucas Vargas and one baby on the way(children of Nicolas and Sara Vargas); and Olivia Lucia Solari and Diego Vicente Solari (children of Daniella and Luis Fernando Solari).

She is also survived by her three sisters and spouses, as well as her brother and sister-in-law: Hector and Monica Chang, Tomas and Ursula Moscoso, and Miguel and Cinthya Bueno, as well as Jorge Vargas, and Javier and Milagros Montoya, who remember her with great affection.

She was a beloved aunt to Gabriela, Hector Ignacio, and Rodolfo Chang; Alessandra, Arantxa, and Tomas Adrian Moscoso; Miguel Bueno; Javier and Eduardo Montoya; and Sebastian and Christopher Vargas.

She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Jorge Vargas Zubiaga.

Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park on Friday, September 5th from 9 am until the Celebration of Life Service at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.

Además deja a sus tres hermanas, cuñados y concuñados: Hector y Monica Chang, Tomas y Ursula Moscoso, y Miguel y Cinthya Bueno, Jorge Vargas, Javier y Milagros Montoya que la recuerdan con mucho cariño.

Le precedió en fallecimiento su suegro, Jorge Vargas Zubiaga.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo en Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park el viernes 5 de septiembre, desde las 9:00 a.m. hasta el Servicio de Celebración de Vida a las 9:30 a.m. El entierro se realizará posteriormente en el cementerio Lee Memorial Park.
