Violet lived a full and rewarding life. She enjoyed traveling and experiencing other societies and cultures. Whether she was on a cruise ship or on an airplane she would embrace and enjoy the get-a-way. She worked for and retired from New York Telephone company. Later she went back to school to get her Nursing Assistant certificate and with that she worked several years post retirement caring for individuals or providing respite in her home to clients who were physically, emotionally and/or mentally challenged. After relocating to Florida, her church home was the Methodist Church later rebranded as Christ at the Crossroads Church where she sang on the choir for years. As part of her social endeavor, she joined the Caribbean -American Service Club of Lehigh Acres Inc. (CASCOLA) where she served as assistant treasurer and was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. She also joined the Cavalier Domino Social Club and maintained active membership in both until the time of her passing. Violet enjoyed going to the casino but her passion for bingo drove her to leave her residence twice weekly to ensure that she was present at every game.
