

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Briar Johnson, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, who left this world peacefully on September 12, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Deborah, his daughters, Kimberly (James) Mulligan, Paula (Dave) Princing, and Amber (Shaun Bittner) Johnson, his beloved sister Dena Johnson and brother Arthur (Peggy) Johnson, as well as Judy Reyes and Shane Sumerall whom he loved like his own children. His legacy lives on through his 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Bill is preceded in death by his loving parents, Briar and Wanetta Johnson, as well as brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Connie Johnson.
Bill loved all of his family, including his nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends. He was a best friend to all that got to know him and would do anything for anyone. He was known for his fun-loving spirit and passion for life. An avid race car driver, hunter, golfer, and fisherman, he achieved many honorable accomplishments. Bill had the most positive attitude and was encouraging too all. He was always planting seeds of God's love and word. He encouraged all to have love, not hate for others nor in their hearts. Bills love for God and his family was evident in all he did, serving as a guiding light in their lives. He leaves behind a family that will forever cherish the memories made together, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. Bill will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as he has gone to be with the Lord, where he will watch over his family with love.
A celebration of his life will be held, with the date and time to be announced soon.
