

William J. Morstadt, 74, of Fort Myers passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Bill was born in Chicago on June 29, 1949. He attended Main West High School and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a degree in Business and Finance. He was a huge sports fan and athlete himself and loved the Bears and Cubs. He also tried out for the St. Louis Cardinals and made it to the final cut.
Bill worked for AMC in Kenosha, Wisconsin and was transferred to the Toledo Jeep plant in 1985 where he met his wife, Deb. They were married on May 10, 2003 and just celebrated 20 years of marriage. When Bill retired as Center Manager at Toledo Jeep in 2006 they moved to Fort Myers where he enjoyed golf, the beach and especially the camaraderie he had with the tennis community. He was very competitive and loved the game.
Bill is survived by his wife, Deb; three stepchildren: Pat (Beth) Schwierking, Heath Schwierking and Kellie (Eric) Sykes; and three grandchildren that he adored: Chase Schwierking, Von Schwierking and Maggie Schwierking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Stephanie Morstadt and his brother, Jim Morstadt.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 am Monday, August 21, 2023 ay Christ the King Catholic Church 4100 Harvest Lane Toledo, OH 43623. A local Memorial Mass will be held at St. John XXIII Catholic Church 13060 Palomino Lane Fort Myers, FL 33912 on Thursday, November 16, 2023 with visitation beginning at 9 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to the Toledo Zoo at Toledozoo.org. Arrangements entrusted to Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park (239) 334-4880
