Born in St. Louis, MO, he has been a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for the past 39 years, formerly of St. Louis, MO.
Gene ran St. Lucie Speedway for many years and owned G&B Trophies and Awards in Vero Beach, FL and he recently worked at Darrell’s Paint and Body shop in Vero Beach, FL. Gene was an avid fan of racing from go karts to stock cars, and he enjoyed working on race cars, no matter what the form and he also enjoyed boating.
Survivors include, wife of 39 years, Brenda Wells, of Fort Pierce, FL and son, Brandon Wells, of Fort Pierce, FL. He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene N. Wells and Shirley R. Ginter and sister, Vikki Wells.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, FL at 7:00pm.
