Born in Glen Cove, New York – March 9, 1939, | Passed Away – September 6, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gertrude ‘Trudy’ Josephine D’Alconzo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend, who left this world peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born in Glen Cove, New York, and raised on Long Island, Trudy built a life rooted in love, family, and friendship. She shared 66 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Ralph, a bond that stood as a testament to enduring love and partnership.
A proud mother, she raised her three children with warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her heart and spirit. Family was her greatest joy, and nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by those she loved most.
Trudy was known not only for her deep devotion to her family, but also for her strength, grace, and the loyalty she offered to those lucky enough to call her a friend. Her sense of humor, her kindness, her lightheartedness, and her gentle presence will be missed beyond measure.
Her life was a beautiful example of love in action—a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Erna Busshart; her sister, Elizabeth Nolte; and son-in-law, Luis E. Bello; each of whom she held dearly in her heart.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph D’Alconzo; her children, Laura Jones and her husband Graham; Lisa Clark and her husband James; and Leah McAllister and her husband James; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and countless friends and extended family who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2330 SE Mariposa Avenue, Port Saint Lucie, FL 34952, on Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 AM. There will be a Celebration of Life held immediately afterwards at Windmill Village by the Sea, 10850 S. Ocean Drive, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.
