Helen Chapman

Helen was born in Lookout, West Virginia to Henry and Mary Ella Skaggs. She married Walter and had 5 children before moving to Florida from West Virginia in 1968 . Helen was a homemaker, she lived for her family as her family was her life. She was very loving and caring and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and time with family. Helen was a member of Community Baptist Church located on Salerno Rd in Stuart. She lived very strong in her Christian faith. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Chapman in 1984; son, Harvey Chapman in 1996; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Survivors include sons, Walter Chapman Jr. and wife Patti, of St. Albans, West Virginia, Reginald Chapman, of Stuart, Florida whom was her caregiver for many years, and Gregory Chapman, of Cocoa, Florida; daughter, Deborah Fleetwood and husband William, of Port St. Lucie; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place on Friday, March 11, 2016 to celebrate her life. A viewing will be held from 11 am-12 pm with Funeral Services immediately following at Aycock Funeral Home, 6026 N. US Highway 1, Fort Pierce, Florida. Burial will follow services at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce located next to Aycock Funeral Home.
