Born on February 4, 1932, in Jacksonville, Ohio, to Helen Skrotsky, Jack was raised in his hometown and graduated from J.T. High School. He later attended trade school to become an electrical contractor, a skill that would shape his successful career.
On December 17, 1965, Jack married Rebecca Parks. Together, they raised two daughters, Renee and Jackie, building a life rooted in love, family, and hard work.
A dedicated businessman and entrepreneur, Jack was best known as the co-founder of Mid-City Electric Company in Columbus, Ohio, which he established with his lifelong friend, Jim Dew. His legacy in the business world was marked by integrity, innovation, and a tireless work ethic.
Outside of work, Jack’s greatest joy was his family. Whether it was road trips, soccer games, horse shows, or gymnastic meets, he never missed an opportunity to be present. He especially loved sitting on the back porch enjoying popsicles while his grandchildren played in the pool—simple moments that brought him great happiness. Jack will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering dedication to family, and the deep love he gave to those around him.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Kempton; daughters Renee (John) Rahaim and Jackie Kempton; grandchildren Taylor Rahaim, Skyler Smith, Mackenzie Hutchison, Ava Langley, and Paizley Taylor; great-grandchildren Bentley, Cameron, and Jack Hutchison; and sister Sondra Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Skrotsky; sister Hermalene Kehlmier; grandson, John Kempton Rahaim; and best friend Jim Dew.
