John L Davis

John L Davis was born on February 18, 1948 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Jimmie and Susie Mae Spencer. He was the second of four children (two of which precedes him in death) and one still residing in North Carolina. He was educated in Brooks County School System, where he graduated from high school.

John was drafted into the army service for 2 years of active duty after which he did several years in the army reserve. He than gained employment as a postal worker, in Boston Massachusetts, for many years and then retired in 2007. By the early part of 2008, he and his wife decided to move to Florida leaving the snow behind. After much searching for a church home, he and his wife Pauline decided to visit Midway Road Baptist Church and have been an active member there ever since.

John enjoyed many activities such as traveling on cruises with friends, bowling, a little golfing and taking care of his home (inside and out).

John was preceded in death by his parents, one sister (Evelyn), and one brother (Jimmie, Jr. ). He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife of 47 years Pauline Davis,brother Berry Spencer, son Shawn Davis, daughter-in-law Sara Davis, 3 grandchildren, 2 stepchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
