

Born in Ionia, Michigan, Leo has been a resident of Florida since 1952, coming from Michigan, settling in Vero Beach in 1965. Prior to retirement, Leo worked as a Forest Ranger, dressing as Smokey the Bear many times, over his 26 years of service. He was a proud World war II veteran that served in the Army Air Corps, and the Army. Leo loved reading, fishing, woodworking, and especially helping others.
Leo is survived by his wife of 59 years, Norma Laycock; sons Jerry Michael Laycock and his wife Marcia of Anchorage, AK, Larry Albert Laycock of Orange City, FL, Carry Earl Laycock and his wife Lori of Spartanburg, SC, and Perry Leo Laycock and his wife Maria of Tallahassee, FL; daughters Tresa Ann Laycock-Royals and her husband Bobby of Fitzgerald, GA, and Judy Lee Zeh and her husband William of Vero Beach, FL; 16 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Terry James Laycock and his sister Loretta Horning.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm, Monday, November 7, 2011 at Cornerstone Christian Church in Vero Beach. Interment will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
