

Born in Charlotte, NC, Diane was raised in Miami,FL and had been a resident of Ft. Pierce for 41 years.
She was a graduate of Florida State University in 1973. Prior to retirement, she had been both a P.E. and Computer Science teacher at Garden City Elem. School for 35 years. Diane was a lifetime member of the FSU Alumni Association and the FSU Varsity Club (she played varsity tennis and softball). She was an avid golfer and an active member in the Ladies' Leagues, of both the Indian Hills and the Fairwinds Golf Club, with a 17 handicap. Diane was raised in the Episcopal faith.
Survivors include her sisters, Madeleine (David) Mower, of Palm Coast, Fl, Harriette Palmer, of Ocala, FL; brother, Arthur Barber, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 5 nieces and nephews, 4 grand nieces; 2 step-daughters, Lisa (Rob) Sharot and Lori Nechay, both of Ft. Pierce, FL; 5 step grandchildren; 1 great step grandchild; brother-in-law John LaCroix; and dear friends Clara Cook, Connie and Dale Hogue, Kevin and Pam Gordon, Gale Poteat, Wayne and Helen Seawell and many other friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert LaCroix.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Diane’s name to Seminole Boosters Inc., PO Box 1353, Tallahassee, FL 32303. Donations are designated to the Seminole Booster Softball Dugout Club or a charity of your choice.
