

Born June 6, 1935 in Washington, VT to Ernest and Adelina (Masse) LaRose, Norbert moved to New Britain in 1942. After graduating from New Britain High School in 1954, he served two years in the U.S. Army. Following his service time, he began a 32-year career as a letter carrier with the New Britain Post Office.
Norbert resided in Southington while raising a family and was active with St. Thomas Church, where he was instrumental in establishing the parish’s folk group in 1968. After his retirement, he moved to Fort Pierce, FL.
Norbert will be remembered for his sense of humor and love of singing and playing the guitar. He enjoyed bingo and was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed watching the Florida Marlins, football and professional golf.
He is survived by his best friend and companion of 15 years Catherine “Kay” Biemiller of Fort Pierce; two daughters, Eileen King and Vivian Tangney, and her husband Kevin; and a son, Charles LaRose, all of Southington, CT; five grandchildren, David, Adam, Joshua, Colleen and Connor; a great-grandson, Isaac; three sisters, Annette Lessard of Farmington, Yvette Falconeri and Theresa LaRose, both of Newington; a brother, Raymond LaRose of Fort Pierce; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Paul LaRose, a sister, Gilberte Forgette, and four brothers, Lucien, John, Lawrence and Marcel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at First Congregational Church, 37 Main Street Southington, CT 06489 at 2:00pm.
