

Sally Mae Orban, born April 23, 1939, of Lansing, Illinois, and later Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of Arthur Orban, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and devotion.
Sally was a strong, independent woman who worked tirelessly for her family. Her determination, resilience, and unwavering dedication shaped the lives of everyone around her. She led by example—showing her children and grandchildren what it meant to work hard, persevere, and care deeply for one another.
A natural caregiver at heart, Sally dedicated her professional life to nursing. She served as a Registered Nurse at St. Margaret’s Hospital, where her compassion, skill, and calming presence touched countless patients, families, and coworkers over the years.
Sally was a devoted mother to her children: Barbara Orban Busich Saunders Christy, James (Judy) Orban, Jeffrey Orban, Michael (Peggie) Orban, and William (Trish) Orban. She was a loving sister to Dennis Buhring and Catherin Nardini Harris, and she cherished her close-knit family relationships throughout her life.
Her greatest joy was her growing family, and she took deep pride in each generation. She is survived by her grandchildren: Julie Busich Thomas, Joseph Busich, Olivia Saunders Laviolette, William Orban, Audrey Orban, Lillian Orban, Alexander Orban, Sean Orban, and Matthew Orban. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Nathan Thomas, Ella Thomas, Alexander Busich, and Evelyn Laviolette. Sally’s love for them was boundless, and her warmth will continue to live on in their hearts and memories.
Sally lived a life defined by strength, compassion, and hard work. Whether caring for patients, supporting her family, or offering quiet encouragement, she had a remarkable way of making others feel valued and loved. Her legacy of independence, kindness, and perseverance will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.
A private funeral service for family will be held at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce on January 17, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will take place from 3–5:30 PM at Meadowood Country Club, 9425 Meadowood Dr., Fort Pierce, FL, where friends and loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her life.
