

GOFORTH - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Mushum, brother, uncle, Senator Aubrey Donald Goforth Sr. He was predeceased by parents: Ernest and Margaret Goforth, first wife Marina Goforth, brothers: James, Clarence, Max Goforth. Sisters: Norma, Rena, Maude, Winnie, Joyce, Fern Goforth. One daughter: June Goforth. Grandsons: Baby Garth and Isaiah Rayne. Great granddaughters Praise and June Goforth. Aubrey was survived by his wife Cecile, Sons: Berl, Ron (Dorothy), Aubrey Jr., Max, Guy, Garth, Sid (Zelda), Charlie (Rae Marie). Daughters: Audrey (Rod), Maxine (Charlton). Brother: Glen (Joyce) Goforth and sister: Dawn Goforth. Numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Special grandchildren Shayla, Sammy, Christopher, Memphis and Damaya. Special brother John Stonechild. Senator Goforth was the Chief of the Peepeekisis First Nation in the 1970ís. He also served as a band councillor. In February of 2001, he was appointed to the FSIN Senate. Senator Goforth served on the board of directors for the First Nations Trust and a member of the FSIN Credentials Committee. Wake services for the Late Senator, Aubrey Goforth Sr. will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 24, 2013 in Fort QuíAppelle at the Treaty Four Governance Centre. On Thursday April 25, 2013 the wake services will be moved to the Peepeekisis First Nation, and held at the family residence of the late Senator Aubrey Goforth Sr. The funeral will be held on Friday April 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the family residence on the Peepeekisis First Nation. The burial service will take place at the West End Cemetery on the Peepeekisis First Nation.
