

Left to cherish his memory are the mother of his children Joyce Stevenson; daughters: Becky (Kirby), Jolena and Pam (Jamie); son Garry; grandchildren: his sweetheart Keyara, his man in training Dayton, his partner in crime Creedyn, Joshua, Dominique (Hugh), Bradley, Jazzy Jasmine and Talia; great-grandchildren Brielle and Isabelle; sisters Rosealma and Mary Doris; brothers: Matthew, Danny, Clarence and Phillip; Godchildren: Shauna Rae, Crystal D., Albert P. and Cicely along with all his friends, family and all who knew him.
Waiting to welcome Joseph are his parents Edmund and Appolina Bellegarde; sister Phyllis; brothers: Eddie, Gilbert, Albert and Alex; nephew Jimmy; great-grandchild Tiny Baby Isaiah; his close cuz and bro Marty Bear and Huggy Bear.
Joseph was a hardworking dedicated family man who did whatever he could to provide for all his family including his mother after his dad's passing. Joseph worked in various areas throughout his life which were Little Black Bear (farming, maintenance and carpenter) Taber, Calgary, Ipsco, CN Rail, grader man for Treaty 4 and then retiring as Water God (water tech) for Little Black Bear First Nation.
Joseph was a simple man and never liked asking for help or assistance except from a very selected few.
Joseph was a caring and humble man that will be missed by many.
The wake took place in the Little Black Bear Community Centre on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service was held in the Little Black Bear Community Centre on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. The interment followed in the Bellegarde Family Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Chris Bellegarde, Harry Walker, Albert Bellegarde, Martin Desnomie Jr., Dale "Gop" Desnomie and Grant Greyeyes.
