Mom was born on May 6, 1931 and was raised with her four sisters on a farm near Avonhurst. There she learned many things such as milking cows and feeding chicken and pigs. She was also taught how to cook, clean and sew. She went to school at a country school until grade 10.
Mom and dad were married on June 18, 1952 and shared 49 years together. They lived on the farm near Lipton until 1965 when they moved into town. In 1970 mom started working at the Co-op grocery store and in 1974 she moved over to work at the Royal Bank until her retirement in 1989. During those years she was involved in the Ladies Missionary Group and taught Sunday school at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. In the summers she kept busy with the garden and her flowers and in the winter with her quilting. She made numerous quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they will be treasured for years. She loved spending time with the grandchildren and traveled to see them as often as she could. She lived in the lodge in Lipton for a number of years where she enjoyed life with her sisters doing puzzles, playing games and even quilting.
The last few years of her life became a struggle due to Alzheimers and arthritis. She will be greatly missed, but is now at rest with the Lord.
The funeral service will be held in the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 935 McCarthy Blvd North, Regina, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Daryl Solie officiating.
