It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Gregory “Greg” Sturgeon. Our dear husband, father, Buppo (grandfather), brother, uncle and friend passed away with family by his side on July 2, 2017 at the age of 69. Greg was predeceased by his parents Frank and Sally Sturgeon and his pal Stretchie. He leaves behind his wife Linda (Wilson); daughters Stacey (Craig) and Gillian (Scott); cherished grandchildren Chris, Adam, Matthew, Anna and Mackenna; brother Wayne and his sons Jason and Justin; and brother-in-law Woody (Peggy) and their children Rain and Josh. Greg was born in Regina, SK in 1948. As a child, most of his spare time and holidays were spent on the family farm near Rocanville, SK. Some of his fondest memories were of summers spent there with his cousins. He enjoyed his life at the lake, riding motorcycles and his work in mechanical contracting and building mechanical systems design. In recent years, trips with family and friends to the Sturgis rally in the Black Hills were a highlight of his summer. He also loved being a winter Texan and the drive south in the motorhome he called M3. The family would like to acknowledge the members of his Day One group, the Out to Lunch bunch and his sponsor for their encouragement and support 'around the table'. He was very proud of his 17 years of sobriety and highly regarded his extended AA family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Andrew’s United Church, 194 Bay Avenue, Fort Qu'Appelle, SK. with Rev. Jo Mader officiating. Cremation with interment at a later date.
