

Ron was predeceased by his parents Roy and Eva McKinnon.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty McKinnon; his children: Tracey, Trevor (Raina) and Teri (Scott); his cherished grandchildren: Paige, Justin, Mya, Luke, Ryder and Jordyn; his brother Garry (Doreen) and his sister-in-law Shirley Logan.
Ron and Betty shared 60 wonderful years together, building a life rooted in love, family and hard work. They especially treasured time spent at their scenic home on Katepwa Lake, where many special memories were made with family and friends.
Ron’s life was grounded in his love of farming, his community and his commitment to volunteerism. He was a familiar and friendly face wherever he went, building friendships that spanned both near and far. He enjoyed playing golf, hockey and ball and he also loved the social aspect of playing and watching sports.
Ron had a quiet wit, a great sense of humour and was well known for always having a one-liner ready. He was a loyal friend to many. His gentle humour and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held in Knox United Church, Abernethy, Saskatchewan on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pat Lyster, with lunch to follow in the Abernethy Hall. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend with the link that is posted below.

Ron’s legacy lives on in the family he loved and the many organizations he volunteered for, as well as in the lives he touched.
