Dennis, a devoted son, was predeceased by his parents, John and Janette Dembicki. Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Cissy Dembicki (Leung); daughter, Jennifer (Richard); son, Michael (Allison); grandchildren, Wilfred, Ashleigh, Madelyn, Charlotte, Andrew; aunt, Patricia Melnyk; as well as his extended family, former colleagues, and friends.
Dennis poured his heart and time into his family. Cissy was the love of his life and while he playfully tested her patience at times, his love and devotion to her were unwavering. Dennis was a proud father and grandfather. He was at his happiest at the family cabin surrounded by his kids and grandkids, sharing his love of the outdoors and teaching them how to get into the perfect amount of trouble.
Dennis will be remembered for his outgoing and adventurous nature. He had a love for many hobbies – fishing, boating, skiing, golfing, curling, swimming, squash, and card games. He was also an active community member, participating in church activities and various municipal committees and organizations.
Dennis is also fondly remembered by his former colleagues. He enjoyed a long career as an engineer, with the majority spent at Dow Chemical. He took pride and enjoyment from his work and took great satisfaction in the fact that his children followed in his footsteps, also pursuing engineering careers.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Dennis' life will be held on Monday, August 28th, at 9:45 am at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 10004 101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dennis can be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute via the University Hospital Foundation.
