He will be remembered by his wife of 25 years, Cynthia; and her children, Siddhara Duncan (David), Divine Gaspar, and Love Gaspar.
Ernest was predeceased by his father, George; his mother, Harriette; brothers, Gerald, Claude, and Philip; sisters, Beatrice, Suzziel, Violet, and Paulette; and his son, Rick Sayers.
He is survived by his children, Janis Laboucane, Clint Sayers, Nick Sayers, Holly Thiessen, Marie Shore, Roxanne Johnson, Charlene Sayers, Wendy Kaskimin, and Cheyenne Sayers. Ernest will be remembered dearly by his 32 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Reflecting on his life, we remember Ernie’s sense of humor and cheerful personality. It is love for his family, hockey, and deep faith that brought him comfort until his death on December 8, 2025.
A service will be held in Edmonton at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 26.
