She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Ian; her children, Jennifer (Kevin), Karen, and Craig (Krista); her cherished grandchildren, Rachel (Jared), Ryan, Benjamin, Siobhan, and Katarina; and her great-grandson, Kasen, whom she never had the chance to meet. She is also survived by her brother, Thom (Lesli); her sister, Sandy (Dennis), and their families. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Anne Wright.
Pat was born on February 13, 1948, in Madoc, Ontario. She married Ian in 1970, and they moved from Montreal in the early 1980’s and chose to raise their family in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
Originally trained as a pediatric nurse, Pat’s career reflected her deep compassion and instinctive care for others. After starting her family, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her children. Once they were grown, she returned to public service and dedicated 24 years as a Trustee with Elk Island Public Schools. She was deeply committed to education and actively involved in committees, events, and community initiatives that supported students and families.
Pat will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her legacy of service, kindness, and strength lives on in all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Shepherds Care Eden House for their care and support, and for helping them through this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with details being shared in the online obituary with First Memorial Funeral Services-Riverview Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Pat can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
