On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, Mike Gaumont Sr., passed away peacefully, at the age of 70. After battling through many years of heart complications, and recent cancer diagnosis, Mike went to be with God during a walk with his wife and dog, and a backyard visit with neighbours. He will be forever loved and fondly remembered by his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty years, Betty, his children; Bonnie-Lynne (Justin), Michael (Jill), and Brad, and five grandchildren; Sam, Justyne, Michael, Kaylen, and Lily.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by so many others; including his five surviving sisters (Elaine, Leah, Carmen, Pauline, and Lorraine), many sister and brother in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, dear friends, neighbours, and cherished kids that adopted him as “Papa Mike”.
Many loved ones wait for Mike in heaven, including his parents, Roland and Josephine Gaumont, and sister, Joanne McEwen.
A private funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Angels Parish, Fort Saskatchewan, on Wednesday, April 21 at 11:00 am. Reverend Father Kris Schmidt will be the celebrant, with interment following at the Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, only immediate family members are able to attend. Those wishing to visit Mike Sr. at his final resting place can do so at the City of Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery in the 2018 Columbarium, Row F, Niche 3.
