Milette (Gigi) was born on December 6, 1945 in Bacolod City, Philippines. She was the
first born daughter and looked out for her younger sisters from the start, sharing her
homework answers and being a leader. She was an airline stewardess for Philippine
Airlines for a short time and in 1962 she met Charlie, the love of her life, and they were
married in 1967. This brought her to a new adventure where in 1968 they immigrated to
Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. She was blessed with her three boys, and raised
them surrounded by many friendships, family vacations, and being a caregiver for other
children. Milette loved to spend her time at the rink watching her boys play hockey.
In 1991 she moved to Kelowna, where she was an integral part of the family business,
made new friendships, and enjoyed many years visiting with her family by the lake. She
recently returned to Fort Saskatchewan for her retirement.
Milette loved to travel. She spent many winters in the Philippines visiting with her
siblings, their families, and friends. She enjoyed many vacations with her sons and
granddaughters to Disneyland, Mexico, and Hawaii. She was always planning her next
family trip.
Milette had the gift of hospitality, if people were in her home she loved to cook. Pancit
and Adobo were favorites. She was known as a second mother to her boy’s friends and
she always made everyone feel welcome in her home.
Her patience, generosity, humility, guidance, and friendship will be missed so much.
We love you Milette, Mom, Gigi. Your memories will live in our hearts forever.
