Roy Vincent Underwood

January 29, 1934 – January 8, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Underwood at the age of 88. He is survived by his sister Lucille Lyons (Okotoks), sister-in-law Beverley Underwood (Whitecourt), brother-in-law Steve Bonevitch (Mission B.C.), and many nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his sisters Bertha Bonevitch, May Nazarek, Jenny Olsen, Maxine Johnston and brothers Ernie Underwood, Leonard Underwood, and Robert Underwood. Roy was born and raised in Blueridge, Alberta. After moving to Edmonton, he worked at various jobs before being employed at Sherritt Gordon where he worked for 30 years in the rolling mill. Roy loved the outdoors and spent many hours in his garage fixing and building things. He could often be seen having his lunch down by Turner Park. He died peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to be given to Rivercrest Palliative Care or to a charity of one's choice. We wish to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at Rivercrest Nursing Home for the care he received and prior to that at Lewis Estates in Edmonton.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 21, 2023, at Valleyridge Co-op 9926 100 Ave. Fort Saskatchewan, AB at 1:00 p.m. in the social room. Lunch will be served.
