

He married the love of his life, Darlean, on February 5, 1966. Together they built a family and loved the Lord through serving His people. Stan was ordained a permanent Deacon on July 4, 2008, by Archbishop Richard Smith of the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton where he served the church in various capacities. He was the archdiocese liaison for the Catholic Renewal Services and served in Our Lady of the Angels and mission parishes for 14 years before moving to Thorhild, Alberta and continued his ministry on loan to the Diocese of St. Paul. Stan formally retired from ministry in March of 2023 but never missed an opportunity to witness the power of the Holy Spirit that had moved and was still moving in his life.
He is survived by Darlean, his wife of 60 years, his two children, Maureen Painchaud (Alain) and Joe Kroetsch (Hazel), his Grandchildren Nicole Barter (Malichi), Matthew Painchaud (Laura), Warren Painchaud (Selina), Jonathan Painchaud (Ainsley), Sr. Anna Lise Painchaud SC, Joel Painchaud, Nadine Painchaud, Sophia Nelson (Cory), Sapphire Robertson (Carter) and T.J. Kroetsch (Jemma) as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
Stan was pre-deceased by his son Warren Daniel in 1967. Stan was passionate about his family and left them with a legacy of faith.
Funeral prayers will be held Friday June 19 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of the Angels, 10004-101 St, Fort Saskatchewan (viewing 6:30pm). Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday June 20 at 2:00 (viewing 1:30pm).
