

Amy Ruth Scales, 91, of Fort Smith, died February 2, 2012 in Fort Smith. She was born February 21, 1920 to George Dillard and Annie Belle Brooks Allen in Farmington, AR. Amy attended Farmington High School where she played Basketball. She was an avid sports lover, especially of Football! Amy’s first job was as a clerk for F.W. Woolworth’s, she retired from Berry Dry Goods after 44 years of service, the Sebastian County Assessor’s Office, and the Colony Shop, and she was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Walt Scales and wife Lorraine Souza of Fort Smith both retired from the U.S. Air Force; one sister, Carolyn Thibeau of Monterey, CA; three grandchildren, Erik Scales, Margaret Scales Perkins, and Nathaniel Scales; and one great grandchild, Benjamin Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Scales; and two brothers, George and Ronnie Allen.
Funeral service will be Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Family Members.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM.
