Anna "Ann" Waldrop

Anna “Ann” Waldrop, 95, passed away on June 17, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 28, 1925 in Blytheville, AR to Thomas Martin Blackwell and Ella Fain Blackwell. Ann was a longtime member of Pocola Heights Freewill Baptist Church. The family remembers Ann always saying in her loving way, “two wrongs don’t make a right.” She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Waldrop; her parents; two sisters, LaVonne Milam and Lynna Mae Tobler; grandson, Warren Harris; great grandson, Nathaniel “Nate The Great” Waldrop.

Survivors include two sons, Ed Waldrop & wife Shelia of Fort Smith, Marty Waldrop & wife Shelia of Little Rock; three daughters, Jimmie Harris of Lake Tenkiller, Judy Combs of Fort Smith, Annette Werschky and husband Rick of Fort Smith; one brother, Gene Blackwell & wife JoAnn of Fort Smith; ten grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and a special family friend, Debbie Humphrey.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 2 – 6 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM, Monday, June 22, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. To place online condolences, visit www.edwardsfuneralhome.com

Serving as pallbearers will be Ann’s grandsons and great grandsons: Thomas Harris, Lance Harris, Zachary Ballard, Shane Waldrop, Sammy Waldrop, Daniel Waldrop, Daniel Bazar, Aaron Werschky and Tim Brinkley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Ann Waldrop, to Fort Smith Public Library, Miller Branch, 3201 Rogers Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72903. Fortsmithlibrary.org/library-donations-O.

I haven't seen any of this family in a long time.
I was a sister in law of Jimmie's. I remember Ann from when Annette was born.
She was a kind loving person. I always liked being around her. I am so sorry to learn
of her death and I am certain her family will miss her greatly.
