

Asako “Jackie” Pittman, 79, of Fort Smith, died November 17, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born June 21, 1935 in Fukuoka, Japan to Kansuke and Sayo Tantaka Suzuki. She was a retired employee of the Whirlpool Corporation, and member of the Arkansas Military Association, the DAV and VFW. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce and husband Kenneth Selby of Fort Smith, and Shannon Pittman of Barling, AR; one son, John and wife Beth Pittman of Bentonville, AR; two sisters, Taeko Burns of Yantis, TX and Yaeko Tatumi and husband Tadahko of Fukuoka, Japan; one brother, Aiko Suzuki of Fukuoka, Japan; five grandchildren, Eric Selby and wife Amber, Keena Bryant and husband Robbie, Jennifer Pittman, Kate Pittman, and Luke Pittman; and nine great grandchildren, Dakota Bryant, Pierson Bryant, Jaxon Bryant, Keeton Bryant, Hudson Bryant, Jesse Watts, Paxton Selby, Connor Selby, and Baby Selby. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Donald Pittman and brother, Kenzo Suzuki. In Celebration of her life the family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4-6 PM. The body may be viewed beginning Thursday, November 20, 2014 through Friday November 21, 2014 Cremation will follow the family visitation and burial will be at a later date in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
