Audrey N. Smith

Audrey Nadine Smith, 85 of Fort Smith died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at St.Edwards Hospital. She was born October 25, 1925 in Elk City, Kansas. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Earl Smith. Before settling in Fort Smith in the mid 60's, "They lived here, there and everywhere from New York to California and from Wisconsin to Texas and Florida and other places in between".

She was also preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Atha Bray McTaggart, five brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Merritt of Independence, Kansas, two sons Anthony E. Smith (Audie) of North Carolina and David W. Smith (Genia Peerson) of Fort Smith, daughter Sandra L. Smith of Fort Smith, grandaughter Katie N. Smith Roper (Brent), grandson Shaun M. Smith, and great grandson Lucas A. Roper.

Audrey bravely battled cancer for over two years. Her family would like to express its appreciation for the special care she received from the staff at the Hembree Cancer Center in Fort Smith. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.
