Brent Cade Barker, 47 of Fort Smith, AR passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. He was born on February 11, 1978, in Fort Smith. Brent was a compassionate, generous and fun-loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He adored his family and friends, and his children were the apple of his eye. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Robert C. Barker, Jr., and a sister, Mara E. Barker.
He is survived by his beloved wife Stephanie Sbanotto Barker, his three children, Harriet Cade Barker, Cecelia Quinn Barker, and Waylon Duncan Barker; his mother Jere K. Jones Barker, of Fayetteville, AR; his sisters, Heather Barker Heitman (Ted) of Manchester, MO and Bevin Barker Raines (Brian) of Fayetteville, AR; his nephews Samuel, Miles, and Maximilian Raines also of Fayetteville; niece Ella Rose Booth of Minneapolis and the Sbanotto and Lukas families.
A memorial visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N 12th Street, Fort Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday August 23, 2025, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Internment of ashes will be at a later date in Fort Worth, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Services Clearing House of Fort Smith or charity of your preference.
