Bryan William Crain passed away on April 10, 2016 at the age of 56. He died peacefully in hospice care in Fort Smith after a brief illness. Bryan was born on February 22, 1960 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Roy and Joan Crain. The youngest of three children, Bryan adored his sister, Mary, and brother, Jim. Having been diagnosed with developmental disabilities at an early age, Bryan spent many years in a mutually beneficial partnership with the BOST organization, receiving care and guidance while giving of himself in the Skills program and also bringing joy to those who worked with him. Bryan had an infectious personality and always brought smiles to everyone around him. He had an enthusiasm for the simple pleasures in life, with an admirable ability to get excited about the little things like a greeting card, a cup of coffee, or a slice of chocolate cake. Bryan’s passions included bowling, NASCAR, and activity books.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Karen Crain of Lewisville, Texas; niece, Heather and husband Justin Ware of Euless, Texas; nephew, Michael and wife Ashley and their daughter, Adeline Crain of Hays, Kansas; and longtime caregivers, Mariko and Scott Clifton and family of Fort Smith. Bryan was loved and cared for deeply and unconditionally by his parents and his siblings, who preceded him in death.
