Charles J. Berlau

Charles J. Berlau, 92, of Barling, died March 21, 2012 in Barling. He was a retired employee of Dixie Cup-American Can, and a member of Central Presbyterian Church. He was an avid volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Sparks Regional Medical Center, Fort Smith Golf Classic, and he was a member of the Sebastian Lodge #20.

He is survived by his wife Mae Berlau of the Home; three daughters, Mercedes L. Weatherly and Christine R. Edera both of Houston, TX., and Jeannette S. and husband Richard Falkner of Fort Smith; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Sheila Organ Berlau.

Funeral service will be Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Central Presbyterian Church and burial of cremains will be at 1:00 PM in the U.S. National Cemetery. Services and Cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM.
