

Charles “Chuck” L. Stevenson, loving husband, Dad and Papa, 70, of Fort Smith, passed from this life November 30, 2014 at his home in Fort Smith. He was born January 19, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri. Chuck is a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1962 to 1965 including his 12 month tour of duty in Vietnam. After the Army, he served two years with the Springfield, Missouri Police Department and then attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he trained as an Aircraft Instrument Technician. When the airline industry struggled, he started his career with Mosler Safe Company. After retiring from Mosler Safe Company, he continued to work in the field of security related electronics. He was a member of Central Christian Church. Chuck is survived by his wife, Connie, his daughter, Melissa Ross and grandchildren, Parker and Carley Ross all of Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L Stevenson and his stepmother Viola Cantrell Stevenson. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery, with military honors. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Edwards Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Parker Ross, Tony Boyd, Travis Boyd, Carl Fox, and Jim Lockhart.
