

Charlotte Rochelle Apple passed from this life on Saturday, March 26th, 2016. She was born Charlotte Rochelle Ward on July 11th, 1936 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Robert Ward and Myrtle Ward Spangler. She married Sanford Eugene “Gene” Apple on June 10, 1956. Charlotte worked at Elmore Records and Bibles in Fort Smith from the age of 16 and eventually owned and operated the business with husband Gene. After it’s closure, Charlotte worked at a few other places, always becoming the beloved “Miss Charlotte” to all who worked with her. Charlotte was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school for many years and was a member of the BYKOTA Sunday school class. Her lord and savior was her guiding light throughout her life and she was always ready to encourage others to seek the lord themselves.
To everyone that knew her, Charlotte was an extremely kind and giving person. She always had an encouraging word and a prayer for anyone who needed it. Her family and friends were extremely important to her, and she had a large extended family that she loved dearly.
She is survived by her daughter Jeanne Westbrook and husband Michael Westbrook of Fort Smith, grandchildren Stephen Westbrook of Fort Smith, Lauren Westbrook of Stillwater Oklahoma, and Aimee Westbrook Lewis and husband Ryan Lewis of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and great grandchildren Conner Westbrook of Muldrow Oklahoma and Kimberly Westbrook of El Reno Oklahoma. Her sister, Rita Dillard and brother Keith Spangler. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sanford Eugene Apple, her sister Waynette Oakley, and her brother Bruce Spangler.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 at Edwards Funeral Home and funeral will be Friday at 11:00 at Edwards Funeral Home.
