Charyn was a kind soul who loved her family and friends. She put others before herself and had a generous heart. On her free time, she loved to read books, she was an avid collector and had an eye for a variety of beautiful things. She had a deep-rooted connection to animals and soft place in her heart for them. If she saw a stray cat or dog she would open her home to provide them a loving place to live. She married Phillip West and was a blessing for him and his children. Charyn provided them unconditional love, stability and a family life and for that, we will always be grateful.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Phillip West; three children, Shannon Belzer, Eric West, Kourtni Taylor; five grandchildren, Jake, Lexi, Brooke, Hailey and Aya; a sister, Barbara Neason; and two cousins, Shorty Jones and Doris Shoemaker; and last, but not least, her fur babies, Spike, Ella, Sweetie, Boo and Buffy.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 25, 2019, 5:30pm – 7:00pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019, 10:00 am at Edwards Funeral Home. A private burial for family will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019, at the U. S. National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.
