Cheryl Ann Cannon, of Fort Smith, passed away in her home on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the age of 65. She was born July 6, 1947 to Price E. and Dorothy M. Cannon of Ozark, Arkansas who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Nita Attaway.
She worked for Sparks Regional Medical Center for 30 years where she recently retired as a Certified Coding Specialist. As a young adult, she obtained a degree in education, taught school in Alaska, and later worked for the State Parks Service in Oregon before returning home to Fort Smith to be near family. She enjoyed music and reading and science fiction was her favorite subject. She was an avid collector of Pocket Dragons.
She is survived by a sister, Linda Cannon and daughter Katherine, and two special cat companions, Smokey Blue Eyes and Mr. Precious.
Graveside service will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Highland Cemetery in Ozark, Arkansas under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
