Chris Boyd Jr.

He is survived by his wife Lisa; his son Brodie (Paige Hensley); his parents, Chris Boyd Sr. and Pam Boyd; his brother Joey Boyd; niece, Jocelyn Boyd; nephew, Drake Boyd; his maternal Grandmother, Jean Williams; and faithful companion, Luna, their mini Daschund. Chris Jr. was retired from the Fort Smith Police Department. He served in the capacities of Patrol Officer, Training Officer, Narcotics Detective, and SWAT Team Leader. He was known for his courage, dedication to duty, and professionalism. His friends and fellow officers knew him to be loyal, caring, dedicated to the city he protected, and the safety of fellow officers and SWAT Team members. His family knew him to be caring and fun-loving.

After his retirement from the police department, he became a Greenwood School System Safety Security Officer, dedicated to the protection of faculty and students. He drew from his law enforcement training and caring personality to provide de-escalation skills, student mentoring, and staff support, but always remained on point and alert for the moment the school or students might be in danger.

He loved spending time with Lisa and Brodie at their lakehouse. Chris spent a lot of time outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish with Brodie. He and Lisa liked to travel and often took weekend trips or stayed at their cabin.

Chris Jr. touched many lives. He was loved, and his family and friends will miss him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the Greenwood Performing Arts Center, Greenwood, AR.
