Dan Douglas Berry, passed away September 23, 2022. He was born on July 16, 1950 in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Craven County with birth defects of his hands. He was born to a Marine officer brat father of which was a “guinea-pig” for the Army in 1963-1965. Dan has lived in Hawaii, California, New Mexico, Texas, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and was lucky to end up in Arkansas. He is survived by the family he claims, his brother Dale Berry, and his nephew Alex Berry, married to Jen, that has 6 children, 5 boys and 1 girl, living in Florida. And by friends all over the country that he has a special bond with. Dan was a generous, funny, and sometimes ornery man.
“Pamela Farmer is the one special friend that was and is the best thing that ever happened to me. Thanks to Brucille and Alvin Gann of Hackett, I leave my precious family of camels. Bonnie and Clyde, Fatima, and Ivy. They have been and always will be my family. May they live a long life in Hackett. Hopefully the nativity scene you enjoy will be with them well into the future. Last but not to be forgotten is Rick, owner of Twin City Produce, that has fed my babies for years to make them the friendliest camels in Fort Smith. Steve and Jenna have loaded my van when I was too sick to do it myself, deserve thanks that went beyond the thanks that I could ever express.”
